Tegretol, carbamazepine USP, is an anticonvulsant and specific analgesic for trigeminal neuralgia, available for oral administration as chewable tablets of 100 mg, tablets of 200 mg, XR tablets of 100, 200, and 400 mg, and as a suspension of 100 mg/5 mL (teaspoon)

Adult Min/Max Dose: 200.0mg/1600.0mg
Pediatric Min/Max Dose: 10.0mg/kg/30.0mg/kg

All Labeled Uses: Complex-Partial Epilepsy, Epilepsy, Mixed Epilepsy, Tonic-Clonic Epilepsy, Trigeminal Neuralgia
Unlabeled Uses: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Bipolar Disorder in Remission, Diabetes Insipidus, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Mixed Bipolar I Disorder, Neuralgia, Paroxysmal Choreoathetosis, Prevention of Seizures following Cranial Trauma or Surgery, Restless Legs Syndrome

Common Dosages by Indication:

Influenza

take 1 capsule (75 mg) by oral route 2 times per day

take 1 capsule (75 mg) by oral route 2 times per day for 5 days

Influenza Prevention

take 1 capsule (75 mg) by oral route once daily

take 1 capsule (75 mg) by oral route once daily for 7 days

Standard Dosage – Treatment of Influenza

Adults and Adolescents

The recommended oral dose of TAMIFLU for treatment of influenza in adults and adolescents 13 years and older is 75 mg twice daily for 5 days. Treatment should begin within 2 days of onset of symptoms of influenza.

Pediatric Patients

TAMIFLU is not indicated for treatment of influenza in pediatric patients younger than 1 year.

The recommended oral dose of TAMIFLU for pediatric patients 1 year and older is shown in Table 5. TAMIFLU for Oral Suspension may also be used by patients who cannot swallow a capsule. For pediatric patients who cannot swallow capsules,
