Adult Min/Max Dose: 0.2mg/48.0mg
Pediatric Min/Max Dose: 0.015mg/kg/0.09mg/kg
HYDROMORPHONE (Dilaudid®) relieves moderate to severe pain. Hydromorphone may be used to control pain following surgery, child birth, and other procedures. Hydromorphone may also be used to treat pain associated with cancer, heart attacks, sickle cell disease and other medical conditions. Federal law prohibits the transfer of hydromorphone to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed. Do not share this medicine with anyone else. Generic hydromorphone suppositories are not yet available.
Opiate agonists encompass a group of naturally occurring, semisynthetic, and synthetic drugs that stimulate opiate receptors and effectively relieve pain without producing loss of consciousness.
